September 1st in Space

The Italian-built chest — nicknamed Leonardo, as in Leonardo da Vinci — was moved from space shuttle Discovery via a hefty robot arm and hoisted onto the space station.
It’s loaded with nearly 8 tons of equipment and science experiments for the orbiting outpost. Much of the gear is stored in portable racks and the bedroom is the size of a phone booth.
The treadmill is estimated to be worth more than $5 million so that may be worth the headache of picking up the drawers.
Leonardo will remain secured to the space station for the next week, however, the Craigslist posting demands that interested parties need to act fast.
Shuttle astronaut Jose Hernandez will oversee Leonardo’s unloading operation and claims that it should be swift and easy pickup.
“We’ve had a few bites from the posting already” Hernandez wrote.
